Delfast Launch 1000W Electric Moped With 100 Mile Range. Most Advanced Ebike Yet?

Delfast has produced powerful electric motorbikes in the past, including the Ukrainian military adaptation, but now we are seeing their latest invention, the Delfast California Electric Moped.

The California, unlike the Delfast 3.0, is aimed at targeting an audience with more utilitarian and commuter needs, and unlike the 3.0, will comply with all legal frameworks. In the US, the bike meets Class 3 designation, that allows for 750W motors and a max speed of 28 mph.

However, Delfast are still pushing the limits, with the ‘750W nominal’ motor on the California actually capable of 1,000W peak power and 160Nm of torque. Alongside this motor is a 48V, 20Ah lithium battery with 960Wh of capacity. The milage is claimed to be 100 miles while under pedal assist of 20mph. But real-life testing will have to verify this claim.

The U-shaped full-suspension frame allows for a diverse range of rider heights, from 5’0” to 6’3” and the low-step allows for easy access. The low weight of 66Lbs (30kg) also allows for easy manoeuvrability.  Integrated LED lights, hydraulic brakes, LCD display all come standard.

An in-built tracker with customisable alarms and emote immobilisation that pinpoints the location is a useful tool against theft.

The Delfast is available to fund on Indiegogo at a starting price of $1,999, down from the full retail of $3,999
